Ka\u017ed\u00e1 nadledvina se skl\u00e1d\u00e1 z&nbsp;d\u0159en\u011b a k\u016fry. D\u0159e\u0148 produkuje hormony adrenalin, noradrenalin a dopamin. K\u016fra (neboli kortex) produkuje glukokortikoidy (kortizol), mineralokortikoidy (aldosteron) a androgeny. Nejd\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00edm hormonem nadledvin ve vztahu k&nbsp;adren\u00e1ln\u00edmu vy\u010derp\u00e1n\u00ed je kortizol, kter\u00fd nap\u0159\u00edklad reguluje hladinu cukru v&nbsp;krvi, t\u011blesn\u00fd tuk, chr\u00e1n\u00ed t\u011blo p\u0159ed infekcemi, p\u016fsob\u00ed protiz\u00e1n\u011btliv\u011b, pom\u00e1h\u00e1 n\u00e1m p\u0159ipravit se na stres.<br>Proces tvorby kortizolu v&nbsp;nadledvin\u00e1ch ale spou\u0161t\u00ed hypotalamus, mal\u00e1 \u017el\u00e1za v&nbsp;na\u0161em mozku, kter\u00e1 tak \u010din\u00ed stimulac\u00ed hypof\u00fdzy (vedle hypotalamu) hormonem uvol\u0148uj\u00edc\u00edm kortikotropin (CRH) neboli kortikoliberinem. Hypotalamus je pomysln\u00fdm gener\u00e1ln\u00edm \u0159editelem v\u00fdroby hormon\u016f v&nbsp;na\u0161em t\u011ble. P\u0159ij\u00edm\u00e1 zpr\u00e1vy z&nbsp;na\u0161eho prost\u0159ed\u00ed, hl\u00edd\u00e1 stav hormon\u016f a pos\u00edl\u00e1 objedn\u00e1vky na dal\u0161\u00ed hormony hypof\u00fdze. Hypof\u00fdza je jako projektov\u00fd mana\u017eer. D\u00e1v\u00e1 dohromady jednotliv\u00e9 d\u011bln\u00edky (nadledviny, \u0161t\u00edtn\u00e1 \u017el\u00e1za, pohlavn\u00ed \u017el\u00e1zy), aby se pustili do pr\u00e1ce, a je \u0159\u00edzen\u00e1 hypotalamem. V&nbsp;hypof\u00fdze se tvo\u0159\u00ed adrenokortikotropn\u00ed hormon (ACTH) neboli kortikotropin. Kdy\u017e se c\u00edt\u00edme ve stresu, hypof\u00fdza stimuluje nadledvinky adrenokortikotropn\u00edm hormonem. ACTH d\u00e1 povel nadledvin\u00e1m, aby za\u010daly produkovat kortizol.<br><strong>Nadledviny produkuj\u00ed stresov\u00e9 hormony, jako je kortizol, aby n\u00e1m dodal energii dr\u017eet krok s&nbsp;na\u0161\u00edm mnohdy a\u017e bl\u00e1zniv\u00fdm \u017eivotn\u00edm tempem.
